Company profile: An authentic western guest ranch with the amenities of a top resort. The ranch has been owned and operated by the True family since 1965. A trip to the ranch is not just arriving at a vacation destination, it is the beginning of a holiday memory that will last a lifetime. There are 44 rooms plus meeting space. Activities include a variety of horseback experiences, guiided hikes, a heated pool with redwood hot tub, lighted tennis court and sports court and evening programs. The spa facility consists of an exercise room, two massage rooms and a sauna.
Accreditation: Members of the Arizona Dude Ranch Association, The Dude Ranchers Association, Metropolitan Tucson Visitors and Convention Bureau, Tucson Chamber of Commerce and Mobil Guide.
Destination Profile: The ranch is on the west side of the Tucson Mountains and adjacent to the Saguaro National Park West. Scenic trail rides meander across the desert terrain and up into the saguaro studded foothills where panoramic views of the Santa Cruz Valley take your breath away. Enjoy the exhilaration of a brisk canter along the desert trails and the fun competition of team cattle penning in the arena. It won't take long before you feel like a genuine ranch hand - albeit a bit pampered - on this historic working cattle ranch. Mountains surround you and the unique nature of the Sonoran desert will stimulate your imagination. Local day trip attractions include the Sonoran Desert Museum, Old Tucson Movie Studio, Tombstone and Nogales, Mexico.
About the horses: The ranch maintains a herd of 120 horses, mostly quarter horse type, with a few paints, appoloosas, thoroughbreds and arabians. We also have some very large draft crosses which makes guest weight limits unnecessary.
